Student Health Administrator

Remuneration:Negotiable depending on experience 
Location:Cape Town, Waterfront

We're looking for a caring and compassionate individual with extensive administration experience to join us on a temporary basis, from May to August.  

The student health administrator is responsible for establishing and maintaining the sound health and welfare of the iXperience student body. You will serve as the first point of contact for students with their regards to their welfare (e.g. medical/psychological needs) and as such you will need to assess the given situation and decide upon a suitable course of action in line with current best practices.  

You will also be responsible for ensuring the effective administration of travel/medical insurance documents, from inception to completion, working in conjunction with medical facilities and claims departments.

What you will do in the role

In a proactive capacity, you will be required to:
  • Establish proactive measures to ensure that students general physical, emotional and psychological health and welfare is prioritised throughout their time with iXperience.
  • Create schedules for medicine distribution to those identified students with pre-existing conditions.
  • Create a rapport with students that is based on trust, responsible behaviour and a general adherence to best health practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality relating to all medical issues at all times.
In a reactive capacity, you would be required to tend to all health needs of the students through:
  • Sound appraisal of medical needs upon student reporting.
  • Ensure arrangements are made for doctors/specialists visits for ill students, in accordance with their medical insurance providers’ requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant medical aid and travel insurance providers and ensuring that sound administrative practice is adhered to from start to finish.
  • Responding to emergencies on site via the correct operational channels.
Who we are looking for; track record must haves

We are looking for someone who our students can trust with their health and welfare requirements.  Ideally, you will have a strong administrative background in a medical capacity, e.g. Hospital Administrator and have worked in a care-giving environment specific to young people.  If this sounds like you and you have a genuine passion for education and personal development, please get in touch.
