Product engineer has critical the responsibility in preparing jobs for manufacture including design specs, layout review, requirements compliance, and customer interface on product information. Develop GRI Towers from concept through production. Working with factory personnel, the product engineer is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Evaluating customer’s specifications and drawings
  • Analysing material list of the projects
  • Generating required technical drawings to give to production and giving them to production in a controlled manner using PLM
  • Design and develop a product or product family.
  • Ensure production procedures efficiently utilize materials, methods and personnel.
  • Establish test procedures for quality assurance of finished product.
  • Assist in selection of material
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyses and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Desired qualification/education:
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering
Specialised knowledge and training in:
  • Valuable technical knowledge: lean manufacturing, project management, steel manufacturing, welding
  • Proven knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools and user level of SAP
  • Advance knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks.
Experience:
  • Minimum three years of experience in industrial design (structural calculation of wind turbine towers will be an important plus)
  • Highly preferable is the experience in a subsidiary plant of a multinational company in the heavy industry, steel sector
