Cache Database Administrator  

ENVIRONMENT:
This Cape Town based IT company requires the services of an appropriately qualified and experienced individual to fulfil the role and functions of the Cache Database Administrator post.

DUTIES:
1. Database Administration and Maintenance
1.1 You must be able to develop standard policies and procedures for in-house database development.
1.2 You will be responsible for the effecting of all requests for Cache data changes and upgrades.
1.3 You will also be expected to have some knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases and administration.
2. Client Software QC and Acceptance
2.1 You will be expected to deliver and effect database changes to the client sites and conform to all the agreed release policies and protocols.
3. Siemens Medical Systems (SMS) Framework
3.1 You are expected to maintain the database structures of Clinicom Hospital Implementation System (HIS), which is a Siemens product. Training will be provided.
4. Reports and Business Intelligence
4.1 You will be expected to maintain the database for Cognos Report and Business Intelligence Tools.
5. Database Security and Integrity5.1 Responsible for all aspects of database security such as add and maintaining users, groups, rights and profiles.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. A Computer Science degree or diploma with at least 4 years programming experience, 2 years experience using Intersystems Cache database and 1 years' experience in Cache database administration.
2. Essential experience and expert knowledge in the following areas:
2.1 Schema design - Object oriented and relation database design.
2.2 Cache ObjectScript - must be able to program using the COS language.
2.3 DBA - must have cache security and maintenance skills in user profiles and rights, roles and privileges.
2.4 SQL - must have good knowledge in ANSI SQL, TSQL and Cache SQL.
2.5 Win32 applications - must have some knowledge in Win32 programming.
3. Other experience which is preferred:
3.1 Visual Basic - knowledge of VB using ADO and ODBC.
3.2 Web Browser - knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, XML, AJAX programming.
3.3 .NET 2.0 - knowledge of Web Forms and AJAX.NET.
3.4 Flex - knowledge of MXML and ActionScript.
