ENVIRONMENT: This Cape Town based IT company requires the services of an appropriately qualified and experienced individual to fulfil the role and functions of the Senior Win32 / Web Developer post. You should have project management skills, time management skills, leadership skills, excellent communication skills, have a keen problem-solver, meticulous with an eye-for-detail. In addition to the aforementioned you must be able to work highly pressurised projects adhering to tight deadlines from time to time.
DUTIES: 1. Systems Analysis and Design - attend Joint Analysis Design (JAD) sessions with client with the aim of understanding the client business processes and translating these into documented functional components of the supported Hospital Information System. 2. Coding - use in-house software and programming languages to code required solution for the client expected functionality. The coding will comply with in-house coding, documentation and timeline standards. 3. Maintenance - in addition to writing new functions, you will be expected to maintain existing, previously written code, with the aim of fixing previous software errors and improving efficiency of previously written programmes. 4. Client Software QC and Acceptance - deliver software packages to client and be responsible for its quality adherence, acceptance and automated distribution. You will be expected to oversee the Client QC Acceptance Process formal process. 5. Programming in Siemens Medical System's (SMS) Framework - Maintenance and development of the Clinicom HIS (Hospital Information System), which is a Siemens product for training will be provided. Three months post training; you will be expected to perform normal (unattended) support/development duties. 6. Programming in .Net - you will be expected to learn the .Net environment and Cache Integrated Development Environment for support of those applications. 7. Reports and Business Intelligence - you will be trained in Cognos Reporting and Business Intelligence Tools and be expected to maintain and enhance existing Web-based Reports interfaces. Furthermore you will maintain and enhance existing reports, cubes and data accumulation procedures relating to client statistical processes. 8. Testing and Quality Control - you will be expected to do unit testing and application testing of existing applications.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. A computer science degree or diploma with at least four years programming experience is required. 2. You must have at least 3 years experience using .NET 2.0. 3. Expert knowledge of Web Forms (.NET 2.0) is essential. 4. Expert knowledge HTML, JavaScript and AJAX programming is essential. 5. Knowledge of XML, Xquery, Xpath and XML DOM is required. 6. Flex skills - knowledge MXML and ActionScript. 7. Other experience which would be preferred would be VB using ADO and ODBC, intersystems Cache in particular Cache Objectscript and SQL.
