IT Support Technician  

ENVIRONMENT:
This Cape Town based company requires an IT Support Technician to work as a team member to support desktop and server systems for the company.

DUTIES:
1. Effective support of users in Cape Town and Durban offices (Johannesburg office to a lesser extent).
2. IT repairs or replacements.
3. Effective support of all workstations, laptops, printers, servers, video conferencing and other communication facilities.
4. Develop relationships and communication with all users.
5. Provide timeous feedback to Business Unit Head on potential issues.
6. Participate in the IST Business Unit driving innovation and keeping up to date with new developments to ensure that technology is used as effectively as possible within all areas of the company.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Matric & relevant completed diploma / degree or MSCE level required.
2. Must have at least 2 years IT Support experience (preferably in a services industry).
3. Experience supporting desktops and Windows servers (Netware experience an advantage).
4. Experience in internet mail functionality.
5. Experience in LAN/WAN / Internet technologies.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.
7. Ability to communicate in English & Afrikaans.
8. Knowledge of Linux and Open Source products advantageous.
