Software Tester  

ENVIRONMENT:
This Cape Town based company requires a Software Tester to join their team.

DUTIES:
1. Creating Test Data.
2. Preparing and following a Test Plan.
3. Preparation of the Test Cases for different types of Testing.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. 3 years of Software Test experience with at least 1 year on enterprise software products.
2. SQL experience essential.
3. Knowledge of Software Test / Quality Assurance methodologies and application of those methodologies.
4. Detailed understanding of Software Development lifecycle.
5. Basic knowledge in the use of testing support tools.
6. Basic knowledge of automation testing methodologies.
7. Basic understanding of client/server technologies.
8. Ability to relate business processes to systems and subsystems that support them.
9. Detailed understanding of Functional Specifications and extractions thereof.
10. Ability to produce test cases from business specifications. 11. Knowledge of Unit Testing strategies (e.g. nUnit, V-model etc).
12. Project Planning and Administration.

General Experience
1. Testing applications on the Windows.Net platforms.
2. Track record of testing high quality, market-leading software.
3. Working with Configuration Management products; Versioning and Issue Management.
4. Use of testing support tools e.g. Rational, Mercury etc.
5. Performing job functions on Windows NT, 2000 and XP.
6. Compilation and maintenance of Test Cases.
7. Requirements management.
8. Writing of defect reports and test report documentation.
9. Detailed experience in Manual and Automated software testing methodologies.
10. Understanding of Rational Unified Process (RUP).

Advantageous but not required:
1. ISEB certification will be an advantage.
2. Experience in Ruby.
3. Experience with MQ Series.
4. Experience in C #.
5. Knowledge of financial software.
6. Knowledge of Dutch will be advantageous.
