IT Support Technician

Working as a member of TNS Research Surveys Information Systems & Technology Business Unit. Supporting Cape Town IT systems (desktop and server), based in Cape Town

• Effective support of users in Cape Town
• IT repairs or replacements
• Effective support of all workstations, laptops, printers, servers, video conferencing and other communication facilities.
• Develop relationships and communication with all users
• Provide timeous feedback to Business Unit Head on potential issues
• Participate in the IST Business Unit driving innovation and keeping up to date with new developments to ensure that technology is used as effectively as possible within all areas of the company

Company Description
TNS Research Surveys is South Africa's largest ad hoc marketing research company. We are a full-house research company undertaking all phases of the research process from designing the study, executing the fieldwork and processing the data, to interpreting and presenting the findings to the client. We undertake both qualitative and quantitative research to provide solutions to any kind of marketing problem.

Requirements
• Matric & relevant completed diploma / degree or MSCE-level
• At least 3 years IT Support (preferably in a services industry)
• At least 3 years server support
• Experience supporting desktops and Windows servers (Netware experience an advantage)
• Experience in internet mail functionality
• Experience in LAN/WAN / Internet technologies
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
• Ability to communicate in English & Afrikaans
• Knowledge of Linux and Open Source products advantageous
