ChilliBush Inroads Public Relations is searching for an experienced Account Director to work across a broad range of clients in sectors from consumer to government. Potentially offering great growth opportunities for grooming into a Public Relations MD position based on performance.
We're looking for a highly motivated self-starter who possesses excellent organisational skills, who can think strategically and can help us take key accounts to the next level. You'll report directly to the group MD and will be responsible for managing new and ongoing client relationships and developing and delivering client strategies. You'll be supported by a team of account managers who'll ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and meet the client's day to day requirements and specifications.
A key element of this role is also to spearhead new business efforts and drive the growth of the Public Relations business both organically and through the new business pipeline. You will lead pitch presentations and proposals, and must possess excellent writing and presentation skills.
Company Description ChilliBush Inroads was formed out of the merger of two well-established, leading South African communication houses - ChilliBush Communications (Pty) Ltd and Inroads Communications (Pty) Ltd. Jointly we have 20-years combined operational experience.
Some of our clients include Gijima, Grindrod, Bonitas Medical Fund, Khula Enterprise, Prominent Paint, the Department of Home Affairs, National Empowerment Fund, Technoserve.
Requirements Minimum of 8+ years of experience in agency or corporate communications, with an emphasis on strategy development, media relations, and crisis communication. (A combination of agency and corporate experience is ideal, though not essential). Local market experience is required. • A proven understanding of corporate issues and how to apply communications to advance a company's business interests. • Proven ability to develop relationships with reporters, develop compelling story pitches, and secure stories in mainstream business media. • Ability to think creatively and deploy emerging media communications strategies on behalf of clients. • Demonstrated experience in drafting strategic public relations programs and implementing them on time and within budget. • Proven ability to develop compelling proposals and presenting them effectively and persuasively to clients. • Strong writing/editing skills, attention to detail and high quality, and respect for deadlines are required. • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as proven ability to lead teams. • Diploma/ degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related field. Advantageous In order to succeed you will be a bright and enthusiastic, with the ability to demonstrate leadership, but also work independently, and take initiative. Essential to the success in this position will be excellent communication skills, a solid corporate communications background with a good understanding of the private and public sector communication requirements.
