Head of Paid Media/Digital Campaigns

Programmatic, Geofencing, DSP, CPC, CTR, CPM, CTA, CPL, Pixels, Cookies, A/B Testing, UTM, Frequency Capping, AIDA and ending with the all-important ROI (oh yeah, we forgot OMG and WTF).

Buzzword bingo to many, but to you and me these acronyms and sci-fi sounding words combine to make digital poetry. We are looking for a digital poet who loves an ad budget and wants to build an advertising division!

Even though we built our agency’s reputation on being brilliant at organic and earned media, primarily within the social media space, our trusting clients (pls excuse the name dropping – but companies like Microsoft and HP do look great on the CV) are all over us to help them be more effective with their advertising budgets.

Our paid media journey has started – we now need you to lead us into the next dimension!

Last year we built a B2B Facebook Custom Audiences that was so targeted that we got a 29% CTR from an audience of 6400, at a CPC of less than .40 cents. You could imagine how much work we have from this client?

Over a three-day medical device tradeshow in Dubai this year, we combined precision geofencing, mobile ad networks and less than awesome ad creatives (medical device companies don’t do sexy). Despite these creative constraints - we delivered 450k impressions, 1880 ad clicks and a queue of visitors to our client’s booth. When one of your medical devices costs over $2 million and your trade show stand costs over $300k – can you imagine how much more work we have from this client?

We have only scratched the proverbial surface of what can be done in paid media, so we are now looking for someone to head up our paid media specialisation as we embark on global expansion (we have offices in the UK and USA btw).

Who is right for this position?

If you can look at yourself in the mirror and call yourself a ‘Facebook Advertising Specialist’ we want to hear from you. Unlocking the B2B potential of Facebook is one of the biggest opportunities we’re looking to bring to our clients (we hate paying LinkedIn $10 CPC). For this reason you might have previously worked in a B2C environment (agency or client side).

However we hate boxes - so if the reflection you see in the mirror is telling you that you are a hardcore ‘Paid Digital Ad Geek’ and you eat PPC or mobile advertising for breakfast - then we also want to hear from you.

How much experience do you need in the trenches to earn the right to call yourself a ‘Facebook Advertising Specialist’ or a ‘Paid Advertising Ad Geek’? Sorry, we’re not going to tell you that, go back to the mirror and ask it!

What we will suggest, is that to have earned this right you would’ve managed 100+ campaigns and dealt with your fair share of success and failure. It’s ingrained in you to learn from each success as much as each failure. Trial and error, success and failure maketh the ad geek (as they say).

What will you be doing?

We figure that we have the perfect client base and have had the early successes (with our social, mobile, and Geofencing ad campaigns) that we can build a large division within our agency delivering exceptional paid advertising to our B2B clients around the world. You will play a key role in making this happen.

What will this entail? A combination of rolling up your sleeves, blue sky thinking, leadership and a thirst for knowledge!

What does that mean?

Rolling up your sleeves – steering our paid media pitching strategy to campaign/creative strategy, audience building, buying through to execution, analysis and reporting (and everything else in between).

Blue sky thinking – taking innovative advertising strategies to a B2B market with little knowledge or no understanding of the technology, possibilities and rewards will take some thinking.

Leadership – building a successful advertising division around you will be all about leadership - which is more about attitude, inspiration and ambition than it is about management experience. You will lead from the front with your ability to nurture, mentor, and explore…

Thirst of knowledge – even though you know you’ll never know enough about digital and advertising you are always battling this fact. Your thirst for knowledge will allow you to be braver in experimentation and for us to keep a millisecond ahead of the B2B market standards.
