Job description

IMDM is one of Africa’s leading digital and mobile innovations agencies - and it has a range of mobile products that – if you’re into all things digital and new tech – will really get you out of bed in the morning. 

As such, we are seeking a vibrant, tech-savvy, self-starter of a bulldog with sales to become a Junior Sales Exec at our satellite office in Cape Town. 

You will be responsible for making first contact, making cold calls, handling sales and marketing databases, for actively marketing and selling various mobile and digital products and services and for setting meetings and managing the Gauteng and Western Cape directors' diaries.

But also, you will be required to be highly creative, to hit the road with as much effort for the small wins as you do for the big wins.

You will be responsible for marketing and actively selling products including SA’s leading Augmented Reality app, 3D animation, 3D display technology, virtual reality experiences, online advertising, online and digital design, development and strategy and a variety of support services.

A thorough understanding of the mobile and advertising industry is a must.

Enthusiasm for new technology not negotiable. 

A never-give-up-sales approach also never negotiable.

Great telephone skills, writing and persuasion skills also an absolute must.

Oh, and you need to be as good at working as part of a team as you are working alone. And you need your own car. 

Principle responsibilities:
  • First contact with potential clients – by use of cold calling, networking and hitting the road.
  • Setting meetings with potential clients, managing follow ups, thinking out of the box to ensure that you walk away with at least a pilot from every meeting
  • Chasing targets and earning commission as you win
  • Researching various industries and companies, and knowing how to apply our products and services to their needs  
  • Create awareness of IMDM with brand and marketing managers as well as other agencies 
  • Build strong relationships with clients at all levels
Competencies required:
  • Self-Driven Individual who proactively identifies marketing and sales opportunities and makes things happen.
  • Passionate about mobile and digital eco system
  • Excellent communication skills, especially strong presentation skills with a knack for consultative selling
  • Excellent Relationship Management Skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Hunger to outperform in a fast growing environment
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with commercial awareness
  • Creative flair and enthusiasm for new ideas and concepts
  • Confident, passionate, and enthusiastic attitude


Desired skills and experience
  • Experience: Two years' experience in digital and new media sales with an established client network (mobile, marketing, advertising, and online)
  • Proven roots in the digital or mobile and advertising market
  • Track record of success in meeting and exceeding targets
  • Ability to attain new business
  • Positive, go-getter attitude and eager to win and earn comm
  • Able to work autonomously as well as being a team player
  • Pipeline reporting
  • Cold calling and an awesome telephone personality who gets our senior sales people in front of clients
