Job description

Paper Plane Publications is a young and vibrant company, currently expanding its UK brand of publishing B2B magazines. Paper Plane Publications is seeking a new sales executive to join its 4 man team based in Cape Town’s CBD.  It's looking to invest in the right candidate to grow within the brand. The ideal candidate should have some experience in a media sales environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the generating of sales, service current clients and key accounts and grow current sales database by regularly researching its sector, promoting its product to the green industry and consistently meeting with clients to pitch ideas.

Most importantly we are looking for a young candidate with panache, enthusiasm and someone who is willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.

Start date of this position will be immediate once interviewing rounds are complete.

Your duties and responsibilities   
  • Submit weekly spreadsheets indicating sales made, prospects and new business
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities ongoing to achieve predetermined sales targets
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to new and existing clients to negotiate and close deals
  • Create tailored solutions that meet the client’s short and long-term needs
  • Build working relationships with clients and maintain a high level of client contact (telephonic and face to face) to ensure that their specific requirements are addressed, to monitor and grow existing business
  • Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interactions with clients
  • Closely monitor competitors and maintain client database
  • Keep all administrative work updated
  • Report on sales opportunities and achievements as required (weekly and monthly)
  • Maintain a high level of relevant industry knowledge

  • A willingness to learn and work your way up the company's ladder
  • Knowledge proficiency in relevant software packages and applications (Microsoft Suite)
  • Knowledge of sales strategies and concepts
  • Good understanding of developing sales reports
  • Reliable transport to get to and from Cape Town's CBD
