Job description

Key function:                    
  • To assist with all current and on-going tasks and responsibilities of the Marketing Department in order to achieve annual targets.
  • Create, implement and manage social media strategies.
  • Management of all social media platforms, including sourcing and loading content as well as growing following.
  • Assist with all events including planning, budget management, sponsorship and execution.
  • Full responsibility of tasks as listed below.
Direct responsibilities
  • Create, implement and manage social media strategies.
  • Create and manage social media campaigns for all events and fundraising initiatives.
  • Grow social media following.
  • Idea generation for new income generating events.
  • Assist with all event planning and execution.
  • Adhoc administrative support within the department.


Requirements

Essential qualities:
  • Passionate about the work of the association.
  • Must have a high work ethic and be driven to achieve targets.
  • Must be prepared to give more than ‘nine to five’.
  • Must treat donors and volunteers in a warm friendly manner and be service orientated.
  • Empathy with people who are differently abled.
  • Must love dogs, and be happy to have them in your environment.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Qualifications/experience:
  • Must have a qualification in social media management.
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently and write in English and one other South African official language.
  • Must have a valid drivers licence and own vehicle.
  • Must be well spoken, well-groomed and presentable.
  • Must be available to work after hours and on weekends as required.
  • Must have at least three years’ experience in social media management.
  • Must have at least two years event management experience.
  • Experience in project management an advantage.
  • Must be computer literate with advanced MS Office skills.
