Job description

Main purpose of job
  • To ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the finance and second gross function.
  • To operate in such a way as to maximise sales and return to dealership from this function.
  • To ensure company policy is followed by all sales staff i.e. timeous handover of all transactions to Business Manager and to notify Dealer Principal immediately if this does not occur.
  • To ensure Dealer Principal is informed of any changes in the F & I market.
  • Maintain/enhance customer’s perception of dealer insofar as service is concerned.
  • Support only those product providers as agreed in writing by the Dealer Principal.
Relationships and personal activities
  • Reporting directly to Sales Manager and Dealer Principal
  • Responsible for Clerical and sales support
  • Relationship with Customers, other Managers, Sales Executive, Finance and Insurance Companies, Agents/Suppliers Representative, Manufactures Representatives.
Objectives and key tasks

Improved Profitability:
  • To ensure budgets and sales objectives are met by personally selling Dealerships’ value added products and secondly by support to direct selling staff.
  • To seek greater margins from present or alternative finance sources or insurer’s second gross products.Increased Business 
  • To ensure that Sales Executive are fully aware of all finance facilities available, which may help close a sale.
  • Be pro-active in suggesting innovative in house schemesCustomer Satisfaction: 
  • To ensure every customer has a clear understanding of obligations entered into.
  • To deal with all customer’s queries with utmost clarity and courtesy.
Cost Control
  • To ensure function’s costs do not exceed budget? (Not applicable in all circumstances).
  • To ensure that dealership receives maximum profit on each transaction.
Limits of authority

Expenditure:
  • To operate function with budget? (Not applicable in all circumstances)
Personnel:
  • To ensure clerical support completes all administrative work accurately within required time.
Operational:
  • To secure finance and insurance support as required by customers in support of dealership sales staff.
Main job function

Staff
  • To ensure function has established level of staff required to achieve goals? (not applicable in all circumstances)
  • To ensure all staff are adequately trained.
  • To ensure work standards are maintained.
Administration:
  • To ensure the clerical operations within the function are completed accurately, properly and that deadline are adhered to.
  • To ensure all documentation, quotes etc. are prepared/returned on time.
  • To establish and maintain and easily checked flow of documentation.
  • To ensure that no penalties of delays are incurred by incorrect or late return of documentation.
  • To maintain accurate and up to date D.O.C, Application Register as well as other support documentation requ4ierd by Business school.
  • To ensure Debtors List is followed up every day and liaise with person responsible.Communications:
  •  To maintain daily/hourly contact with Sales Managers and Sales Executives.
  • To ensure any market changes are immedialty communicated to Managers.       
  • To maintain effective contacts within finance and insurance companies.
  • To maintain effective relationships with manufactures.Representatives
  • To deal with customer queries/ complaints in a lucid and courteous manner.
  • To maintain a flexible and supportive relationship with Sales Executives.
  • To respond to all reasonable requests from Business School regarding deadlines and returns.Marketing
  •  To contribute to dealerships marketing plan by contributing input covering total F & I service.
  • To provide an input to all special events, “Day” or “Weeks”]
  • To ensure that Dealership hours are adhered to at all times.
Experience, qualifications, and training
  • Knowledge and experience of the finance and insurance industry.
  • Ability to negotiate profitable transaction/have strong selling skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the F & I industry.
  • Ability to build good customer relationships
  • Ability to fit in as a member of a team
  • To have wide-ranging contacts within the F & I industry.
  • To be pro-active (self-starter), assertive and opportunistic. 


Requirements

Competencies
  • Matric with mathematics
  • Drivers licence
  • Knowledge of the finance and insurance industry.
  • Ability to negotiate profitable transaction/have strong selling skills.
  • Ability to build good customer relationships.

  • To be pro-active (self-starter), assertive and opportunistic.
