Job description

Provide a training and development service to ensure the implementation and maintenance of training interventions according to organisational needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish clear objectives for all workshops and communicate objectives to participants
  • Establish and enforce a ‘classroom’ code of conduct to maintain a positive learning environment 
  • Prepare learning material and training rooms in preparation for each workshop
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and work time that provides learners with the opportunity to observe, question, and investigate materials covered during the session
  • Instruct participants individually and in groups using various adult learning methods – i.e. discussion and group activities
  • Identify, select and modify training material to suit the needs of the participants
  • Observe and evaluate learners participation – Have their needs been met?
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping
  • Provide a positive environment in which participants are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
  • Collaborate with co-workers to enhance the instructional environment
  • Meet workshop performance goals
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating services
  • Conduct induction
  • Gather evaluation and feedback on training provided and report on outcome
  • Develop training programmes
  • Develop training manuals

Financial
  • Recommends cost saving initiatives and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
SHEQ
  • Adhere to all guidelines related to Security, SHEQ and IT operational policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Provide solutions according to client needs and best practice principles. 

General
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Ensure policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to
  • Knowledge and continuous analysis of legislation affecting activities and procedures
  • Development of subordinates
  • Identify and remedy skills gaps
  • Manage Training interests in terms of risks
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation 


Requirements

  • Diploma – Human Resources / Training and Development or a Certificate in Adult Education
  • Working knowledge of NQF
  • Previous experience with Learnership implementation and management
  • 2 – 3 Years in a Learning and Development environment 
  • Drivers license
  • Own reliable vehicle
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Suite of Products
  • HR Information System
  • Extensive travel required
