Job description

Purpose of the position

The successful candidate will join our ambitious and dynamic Sales Team, and will work closely with our Product, Education, Customer and Finance teams to develop learning and development solutions for – and to sell our range of world class products and services to - corporate clients.

Your focus will be primarily relationship-based sales and consulting, and we will rely heavily on your experience, talent and leadership to build strong relationships with new clients, and entrench and strengthen our relationships with existing clients.

You will need to be able to access and engage with C-suites and senior management (especially in HR and Finance) in companies of all sizes, and represent Red & Yellow and our competencies and products with utmost command and confidence. You will need to quickly develop deep understanding of clients’ needs and challenges, and develop proposals that solve their learning and development challenges, and leverage our products, services and experience to deliver meaningful, lasting value.

Duties and Responsibilities

We will expect you to challenge yourself, and will give you as much rope as you’re prepared to accept. Your ability to grow and develop your career is dependent entirely on your appetite to take on responsibility. At the outset, your duties would include the following:
  • Networking, business development and lead generation from new clients.
  • Compiling target and hit lists, and ensuring a high level of prospecting and sales activity each day
  • Building, managing and maintaining your own individual sales pipeline, and contribute towards sales pipeline overall
  • Selling our range of products and services against carefully tracked and managed targets.
  • Developing a deep understanding of our products and services – as well as prospective clients’ needs and challenges - so that you can meaningfully engage with prospective clients and offer them valuable solutions
  • Demonstrating advanced market knowledge, and deliver strategies for unlocking new markets and new opportunities
  • Developing, pitching and presenting proposals and solutions for/to prospective clients
  • Preparing and submitting tenders, managing client procurement processes, and handling scope and price negotiations
  • Working closely with the Customer team to ensure new client become long-standing clients, and to ensure highest quality service across the business at all times and highest possible client retention rates
  • Working with our Product, Education and Customer teams to continuously improve products, services and means of delivery to clients
Working with our broader team (especially our Customer, Education and Product Teams) to:
  • advise and develop learning and development solutions for clients that are aligned with Red & Yellow’s vision, goals and positioning, and that leverage our strengths, resources and products; and
  • develop innovative new strategies and products that drive growth in our business, strengthen our relationships with our clients, and align with Red & Yellow’s vision, goals and positioning.


Requirements

  • HR/Training & Development skills advantageous
Experience and Qualifications
  • Five years minimum previous experience – and an excellent, proven track record - working in management/business consulting (or related field)
  • Experience in business development and driving (and owning) revenue growth, with a proven track record of achieving targets.
  • Technical knowledge of and experience in the fields of learning and development, digital innovation and/or management consulting, particularly dealing with large corporates, blue chips and government
  • Knowledge of B-BBEE, SETAs, Skills Development and Higher Education highly advantageous
