Job description

A well-established and leading property management group is looking for a competent and efficient human resources officer to join their team in Johannesburg.

Key duties:
  • Recruitment and selection of all levels of staff (advertising vacancies, creating job adverts, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, reference checks, letters of appointment, induction and orientation) 
  • Organisational development 
  • Industrial relations 
  • Performance management 
  • Aligning business practices with labour legislation
  • Succession planning and career development 
  • Payroll management and maintenance 
  • Development and implementation of company policies and procedures
  • Attract, select and identify talent, and direct career management and succession plans alongside the DHR in order to develop the motivation and commitment of talent, to reinforce retention and to ensure optimisation of skills within the group
  • Ensure legal security at both individual and collective levels, as well as compliance with HR processes and practices, according to applicable legal provisions, in consultation with managers
  • Outline business issues for his/her unit in terms of HR issues and projects, anticipate and accompany operational requirements and organizational changes, acting as a business strategic driver
  • Consolidate and analyse HR key performance indicators (KPIs) and annual reports for his/her area of activity, according to defined objectives
  • Monitoring the development of expertise and skills of employees
Education knowledge, professional experience and personality traits: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess excellent leadership abilities and be confident in rolling out processes
  • Be able to consistently make intelligent decisions under pressure
  • Possess good judgement, show initiative and independence, good job attitude and be dependable
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Possess excellent organisational abilities and be able to deal effectively with people 
  • Possess good analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines is essential

  • Written and spoken Chinese language

  • Minimum three to five years’ experience at a similar level, leading an overall HR generalist function
  • Corporate HR generalist experience is a must
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in IT software (SAGE) 
  • Experience in Employee Relations
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to multi-task daily would be critical
  • Effective communicator with good presentation skills
  • Good Ms Office Skills
  • All rounded professional in the HR Generalist area
