Freelance Copywriter

Flash Mobile Vending is a well-established brand with a global strategy, that prides itself on making people’s lives easier through frontier technology that creates enabling opportunities. We are seeking a dynamic freelance copywriter who loves writing compelling copy that helps to differentiate and position the business brand. You’ll be working closely with the Marketing team to create the narrative for a number of brand elements including copy for websites, brochures, ad campaigns, digital display ads, SEO copy and more. The goal is to reach our target audience in the informal retail trade.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is preferred
  • Must have strong creative writing skills and the ability to write powerful and compelling copy that will help position the brand correctly
  • Must have the ability to understand the different language styles that appeal to various target markets
  • Knowledge of additional South African languages will be a major advantage
  • Knowledge / experience with digital and SEO copywriting will be a major advantage
  • Knowledge of the informal retail trade market will be an advantage
Skills:
  • Meticulous attention to detail - spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Ability to tell stories that will motivate, influence and persuade
  • Ability to articulate relevant and original ideas
  • Ability to simplify the complex and make it customer-friendly
  • Ability to produce excellent copy with minimum guidance

Responsibilities:
  • Write effective copy for marketing material across all channels – persuasive compelling copy that motivates and inspires the target audience to take a desired action
  • Write copy for a variety of disciplines - direct, broadcast, digital, loyalty, promotional and instructional.
  • Strategize and create content that educates, engages the audience, nurtures leads, supports business goals and tells a brand story across multiple print and digital platforms
  • Writing for digital, below and above the line advertising, brand collateral, editorial, press releases, online and social content, presentations, packaging and more
  • Make sure the copy is clear and tailored to meet both the channel and target market profiles
  • Assist with content for internal communications materials
  • Proofread and edit online and offline content.
