Pical is based in Modderfontein and is looking for an experienced person to help us manage our clients Live Experiences & Essentials (events, gifting, clothing and PR). All successful candidates will be required to sign a three-month fixed term contract that can be made permanent based on the candidates performance and the meeting of minimum set targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our clients brand identity through putting together meticulously planned and executed events, brilliant and fresh corporate gifting and clothing and the occasional PR when required. The position reports directly to the Senior Brand Strategist as part of our hybrid creative agency.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the full control of ordering the company’s client’s gifting and clothing requirements and the distribution of such items.
  • Overseeing the annual gifting and promo budget and ensuring its use is fully maximised and clients are consistently fully stocked.
  • Building a supplier book of new and trending essentials, meeting with suppliers and building relationships.
  • Assisting the sales function in developing this service and expanding on the range and client book.
  • Full Management of events; such as conferences, charity events, trade shows, employee appreciation events and virtual events.
  • Train, and educate staff on proper event procedures.
  • Calculate budgets and adjust when necessary.
  • Book venues and negotiate fees.
  • Prepare invitations and send out at appropriate time.
  • Hire bartenders and wait staff.
  • Work with guest of honor to ensure all requests are met.
  • Drive attendance to the event.
  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentation.
  • Define company brand through the event.
  • Ensure staff is adequately prepared for events.
  • Pay vendors for their participation in the event.
  • Provide receipts if needed.
  • Ensure day of event goes smoothly.
  • Set up booths, flowers, decorations, and other event decor.
  • Plan menus, order food, and hire chefs or caterers.
  • Sample food, including main dishes and desserts.
  • Give final approval for items such as music and menus.
  • Assisting the sales function in developing this service and expanding on the range and client book.
  • Promote the event using various forms of media outlets and other related channels.

Professional and Technical Skills   
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be a strong advantage.
  • Highly articulate individual with excellent written communications and presentation skills are essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications/events or equivalent would also be an advantage.
  • Solid experience in administrative functions
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • SA citizenship or SA permanent residency essential
