During the African Airlines Association's 48th annual general assembly, which was held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Ethiopian Airlines was bestowed with the Airline of the Year Award for the fifth consecutive year. The awards are held to acknowledge the service delivery, innovation and competitiveness leaders in the African aviation sector.
Ethiopian was praised for its financial performance, technological leadership and its investment in a modern fuel efficient fleet as well as its cooperation with other African carriers which has seen a significant expansion in the African route network, growing cargo operations with the largest cargo fleet on the continent and huge investment in MRO and training facilities to support the African aviation sector.
