Design In brief South Africa

International design award goes to Gauteng student

This year's Parkett Dietrich International Benchmark competition has been won by Tuami Zulu, an interior design graduate of The IIE from the Design School Southern Africa (DSSA), for his design and development of a centrepiece outdoor bench that communicates the culture of Southern Africa. He was invited to Germany to receive his award, together with a generous cash prize.

The competition is open to young professionals and students in the field of architecture, design and art who are keen to make their mark internationally, along with other well-known architects and designers by exhibiting their designs at the annual IMM Cologne international furniture fair in Germany.
