On Saturday, 14 April 2012, a crowd of almost 20 000 were entertained from 12pm until past 11pm by the likes of Bobby Van Jaarsveld, Bok van Blerk, David van Vuuren, Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels, Jay, Juanita du Plessis, Kurt Darren, Loyiso Bala, Prime Circle, Riana Nel, Steve Hofmeyr and Theuns Jordaan.
It was a day for the whole family to come together with Jacaranda FM. Kitted out with camping chairs, picnic blankets and baskets in perfect Pretoria weather, concert-goers got to enjoy some of the country's best music acts and the Blue Bulls Super 15 win over the Lions. There were several other highlights during the day including the launch of Jacaranda FM's new logo, Jay and Martin Bester's Kinky Robot opening the festivities on stage, the Sexy Blue Bulls Babes teaching the Jacaranda Day Dance and Barney Simon's air guitar talent search. Meanwhile, the Jacaranda FM presenters Rian Van Heerden, Ashley Hayden, Frankie Du Toit and Julio Garcia kept the crowd in good spirits.
The day was not just about music and entertainment, it was also a day that showed the caring nature of Jacaranda FM and its listeners. Hundreds of blankets were donated to the station's Winter Warmer Campaign, (aiming to collect and give away more than 100 000 blankets to those in need), while simultaneously hundreds of pints of blood were donated to the South African National Blood Service at the stadium.
