Following the acquisition of JDB Advertising in January, the increased business from just its existing client base, the key appointment of a Chairperson for the agency and the advent of its seventh birthday, ZOOM had good reason to celebrate.
A Lucky Seven party was duly held at ZOOM's Cape Town offices on 1 April, attended by clients, suppliers, senior Ogilvy people and ZOOM staff.
ZOOM Cape Town and ZOOM Johannesburg have been merged into one agency - ZOOM South Africa - operating under the newly appointed chairperson - Rudo Javangwe, whose extensive and impressive experience in retail marketing will be an asset and is welcomed by ZOOM SA and the Ogilvy group alike.
ZOOM's MD and creative director in Cape Town, Steve Massey gave a welcoming speech at the party, saying: "We've turned seven; we've added at least seven more clients; we've added even more business in just the last seven months alone and we're going to do even more in the next seven years."
Explaining that ZOOM's ex-managing director Ian Farrow had retired from the agency last year, Steve handed over to Gary Leih, Ogilvy Group Managing Director to officially announce Rudo Javangwe's appointment and welcome her on board.
