Lobbying in SA

4 May 2003 06:042 commentsBizLike
Lobbying is big business in countries like the United States. Is there a strong demand for lobbying and other aspects of government PR in South Africa? This question comes a PR student, who wants to know whether this is a career worth pursuing.

Lobbying - MFSA-
Lobbying is a very powerful tool. However, this can only be done through organisations like the MFSA. We have created such a powerful organisation and government respects our position. I would suggest you become a member of the MFSA and join in the debate as you will receive regular updates on the efforts of our committees. You are also asked to comment and contribute. Use the avenues otherwise your career is wasted.

I feel there is a dire need for lobbying in South Africa especially when it comes to consumers whether its your rates bill or retail account everyone has the same problem we are being messed around. Who is fighting for us , because we are one person we do not have the impact to make a difference . our so called consure watch dog Isobel Jones is a joke !She is promoting pans & diets how objective can such a person be ( is she just in it for the money ???)
