What is happening to what was once a fine broadcasting institution?

GHFM seems to be all over the place these days with the 'new' line up. I remember being tuned into this station back in the 90's when it was at it's most dominant. Intelligent, intellectual presenters who knew how to command their listeners. I moved overseas for a number of years and returned about 2 years ago. While i am aware one has to keep up with trends and improve on listenership, i'm afraid this is where GHFM fails dismally. Enter Dj Ready D. While i applaud the man for his magnificent achievments in his particular field, i'm afraid radio seems a bit out of his league. I tuned in a few nights ago and was greeted by an almost lifeless, morbid tone lacking energy which made me turn off the radio almost immediately. Whatever happened to talent and professionalism in this medium?I listen to DJ Fresh on 5fm and am greeted with intelligence matched with a cool personality, very reFRESHing indeed. Is there no talent left in Cape Town? I'm sorry but being a big name club DJ shouldn't automatically qualify you to be a radio dj. Fresh is one of the few people who can boast success in both genres. GHFM sounds like the radio version of Yo-tv. I would rather audio stream foreign radio stations than allow my ears to take such a hammering. sorry guys, it's not ALL GOOD!!!
