Career conference 2012

Career conference 2012 is scheduled to take place at Nairobi, KICC on 2nd and 3rd of March 2012 just after the release of KCSE results. The event is expected to draw over 10,000 form four leavers from all over the country and this will be a great opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products and services.

1.1 EVENT SUMMARY
Career Choice has become a complex science for students. This is usually a critical point for the adolescents as the decision they make play a major role in propelling them in a career path that could open opportunities or close them. With the evolution of Information and Communication Technology, world of work has changed, and as such, persons entering into a career need to have a clear understanding of the dynamics.
In Kenya today, a huge percentage of people are employed in areas that are neither in line with their professional training nor with their career interests. This is partly due to lack of the ability to re-orient their interests to the available training and employment opportunities. This situation results in job frustrations and low job satisfaction, characterized by low work morale and reduced productivity which inevitably has far reaching social and economic consequences. This situation reflects a need for efforts to harmonize individual's natural abilities and interests with their education and training, in line with changing needs of the job market. This can be achieved mainly through Career Guidance and Counselling.

Smart Solutions Africa as part of its CSR, has initiated an annual Career Guidance Conference in a bid to bridge the glaring disconnect between an individual best suited career and the professions pursued in college. This will be achieved through a two days career workshop that will provide the form four leavers with information on career choice and development required for adequate understanding of oneself in terms of academic potentials, attributes, talents, interests, personality, values, expectations and available resources. This basic understanding will help them identify a suitable career option
Smart Solutions Africa (SSA) requests your organization to sponsor the above cause that will bring together over 10,000 form four leavers. There are three sponsorship categories available: Gold Sponsor- Ksh 900,000+VAT, Silver Sponsor Ksh- 450,000+VAT or a stand at Ksh 200,000+ VAT.

Overall Objective
To help the form 4 leavers choose and proceed to an optimal career path based on ability, personality and, available opportunities through proper career guidance.
