Programme in project management
Unlike many Project Management courses that only emphasise knowledge, this well-established programme has been designed to develop your project management skills and insight as well, and equips you with the tools and techniques necessary in project management.
The PPM is well established and well known in the marketplace: from 1997 to 2008, it has been presented successfully 70 times since 1997. More than 2500 people from a wide range of companies are government organisations have already benefited from this programme.
International standards: ISO, BS and PMBOK
Course material is based on internationally accepted standards and best practices. Aspects of particular interest in South African environment are also addressed. he department responsible for academic aspects of this programme is a Registered Education Provider (REP) of the Project Management Institutes (PMI) in the USA.

All people involved in or associated with projects - whether as project managers, planners, project team members or senior manager - will benefit from this programme.The skills and techniques taught in this course are relevant to all sectors of business and government including services, engineering, social development and information management.
Programme structure:
The 8 modules of the programme are presented in 4 blocks of one week each. Assessment is based on group assignments and individual assignment on a work-related problem. Presentation of modules consists of lectures, group discussions and case studies. A University of Pretoria certificate will be issued on the successful completion of the course. Full-day attendance on campus from 08:00 - 16:30 is required.
GETWAY TO APPM
Successful completion ensures admission to the Advanced Programme in Project Management (APPM) at the University of Pretoria.
Accreditation:
The University of Pretoria is an accredited higher education provider. The programme is accredited with ECSA.
Assessment:
An assignment for each module must be given in for assessment and a University of Pretoria certificate will awarded on completion of all assisgnements.

4. Project Quality Management
5. The People-side of Project Management
6. Legal Aspects for Project Managers
7. Financial Principles and Project Cost Management
8. Project Management in the Business Context
Two of eight modules are addressed during each study block.

Alternative presentation: Only eight days away from work
In order to accommodate people who cannot afford to be away from work for 20 days, this presentation of PPM reduces the number of days away from work to eight Fridays and eight Saturdays. This offering, however necessitates more self study and hence the requirements for admission are stricter: a bachelor's degree from a recognised organisation is mandatory.

Programme Fee
The all-inclusive programme fee is R25.300.00 per delegate. This includes :

A 10% discount will be given for five or more delegates from the same company. The full fee should be paid at least two weeks before commencement of class.
