Correspondence course for screenwriters

The Writing Studio's correspondence course is ideal for those who would like to work in their own space, as well as for writers living in rural areas.

Following in the tradition of scriptwriting and creative writing workshops presented throughout South Africa the past eight years, as well as evening courses at City Varsity Film and TV School, trainer Daniel E. Dercksen - a qualified education, training and development practitioner - has designed a personal correspondence course that will afford writers who have full time commitments or are unable to attend workshops, to work on their screenplay in their own comfort zone.

The course examines the writing process and explores the world of contemporary film and filmmaking.

It is divided into 12 units that will take you through the eight steps of working on the first draft of a screenplay , after which writers start writing the first draft of your screenplay for feature film, short film, or stageplay.

We also have an advanced workshop for scriptwriters and a correspondence course for storytellers.
