The Stellenbosch University Language Centre will be presenting a workshop series for employees in the public and private sector, focusing on report and proposal writing.
Do you often have to write reports? Do you really know how to write a proposal? Does your employer provide any guidelines or house rules in this regard?
From 7 to 9 April 2008 the Stellenbosch University Language Centre will be presenting a workshop series for employees in the public and private sector. Participants will learn how to plan their writing and how to write effective reports and proposals according to guidelines for each document type. Material from especially the public sector will be used as examples, and the following aspects, amongst others, will be discussed: • Who exactly is the audience? • What is the goal of the report or the proposal? • How to effectively organise the information • Choosing a suitable format for the report or proposal • Style and coherence
This workshop series will consist of the following two separate workshops, and participants should register for each session separately:
Official reports 7 – 8 April 2008 R2 150 Official proposals 9 April 2008 R1 125
Participants who enter for both sessions, will only pay R3 000. The closing date for entries is 25 March 2008, and we only have 20 seats available. The workshop series will be presented in English, but we operate in a language-friendly environment where both English and Afrikaans are accommodated.
