Pre-summit Workshops on the 28 of August 2012 We are offering six full day pre-summit workshops on the 28 of August 2012, which is a deep dive into specialised content such as: Biomimicry: Innovation empowered by nature's genius; How to use innovation to lead effectively, work collaboratively and drive results; Stimulating regional innovation by moving from product to business model innovation; Graphic facilitation Master class; Leveraging trends in Africa for business creativity and idea generation: tools and techniques; and Invention and innovation: developing an enabling context.
The Innovation Summit will take place on the 29 and 30 of August 2012 Leading Innovation focuses on all aspects of the skills and competencies required during the different stages of an innovation journey, the role the executive management team can and should play, as well as asking ourselves how can RSA and Africa lead innovation in the world? How can we create new and specifically sustainable opportunities that will address the problems faced by the world? How do we influence our global innovation index ranking? How do we create a space where government, academia, business and the community come together to unlock the value to the benefit of everyone? What platforms are required to enable regional and national productive innovation systems? What role does design play in innovation?
What is Africa's competitive edge? Africa has something new and unique to offer the world and we will explore, define and then develop this further before, during and after the summit. Is our creative edge perhaps the fact that Africa is 'developmental' rather than developed?
The summit brings together leaders, executives, government, NGOs, entrepreneurs, academics, innovators, inventors, decision makers, CEO's and the youth. We will have thought leaders exploring the latest thinking on innovation practice, practical case studies, lessons learnt, new theories and applications as well as specific tools and techniques. Delegates can expect practical and experiential workshops, presentations, panel discussions with thought-leaders and ample structured networking opportunities.
Innovation Lab taking place from the 28 to 30 of August 2012 The Innovation Lab will be open to the public on the 28 of August 2012 and to delegates only on the 29 and 30 of August 2012.
