Crisis communication management

Wikipedia states that "The credibility and reputation of organisations is heavily influenced by the perception of their responses during crisis situations. The organisation and communication involved in responding to a crisis in a timely fashion makes for a challenge in businesses. There must be open and consistent communication throughout the hierarchy to contribute to a successful crisis communication process."

This statement clearly demonstrates the importance - particularly with the advent of social media and the notion of our global village - of crisis preparedness, planning and management as a key factor in managing reputation.

Topics to be covered will include: -
• Planning for a Crisis - including scenario / contingency planning; risk assessment and understanding the types of crises that may affect organisations
• Crisis Plan Methodology including looking at the stages of a crisis
• Implementing your crisis plan
• Crisis Training
• The crisis manager's role
• Case Study - successful crisis management
• Case Study - unsuccessful crisis management
