“Communication - the sixth sense” is the theme of this year's Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA)'s conference.
It takes place on September 15 to 16 September 2008 at Montecasino, Fourways, Johannesburg.
Why attend the annual conference?
Each year PRISA hosts a conference that attracts a diverse participants profile of over 300 delegates.
Apart from South Africa, members are drawn from Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana.
The objective of these conferences is to provide an information sharing and collaborative forum for Public Relations and Communication Practitioners.
Renowned as the premier event for professionals in the Public Relations and Communications fraternity, the conference will enable the participants to make the necessary adjustments to communicate effectively into the future. It is crucial for professionals to be conversant with new research and its
findings in other areas of study. Critical changes in the understanding of the inner and outer worlds and how rapidly expanding body of general knowledge about how these worlds will be impacting our communication processes, are necessary if one has to meet the communication challenges of the future.
Drawn from various disciplines, speakers will focus on issues ranging from freedom of expression and democracy in Africa, safety of the nation and sensitivity in communicating to diverse audiences.
Throughout the conference delegates have the chance to:
learn about personality profiling to assist in the formulating of messages to specific audiences, network with other industry peers, learn from best practices share by the experts and learn about the findings on the impact of communication processes such as neuro linguistics, neuro semantics, personality traits and intelligence.
Although registration is currently going on, early registration with special fees will end ten days prior to the conference. For further information on this highly informative conference contact Adele Paulsen at PRISA, email
