Reputation management

This one-day workshop will reflect on the traditional views of reputation management before switching the focus to the impact of the web on organisational reputation.

Aimed predominantly at senior practitioners and communication managers, reference will be made to the views of CEOs globally on the role of public relations and communication practitioners in managing reputation.

The social media and other Internet platforms have caused organisational reputations considerable damage through their superfast delivery channels, their significantly higher credibility as messengers and the vast spread of messages through contact networks and social platforms. They do, however, also provide the same platforms and networks to innovative managers to manage their organisations' reputations much more effectively than ever before. The secret lies in knowing what is said by whom and where ... and to respond credibly, openly and swiftly where this is required. This workshop will assist you to understand the basics and to get started on a new, dynamic road to online reputation management.
We will also focus on a series of case studies to understand the concept of reputational risk and how to assess it from an individual and organisational perspective; analyse where reputational risk lies - within the individual or the organisation or both and unpack how individual reputations affect the organisation and vice versa.
