Tipping point leadership for 2010

This half-day master-class, presented by international brand leadership expert, Dr Nikolaus Eberl will teach you the ten commandments of tipping point leadership.

How can you overcome the barriers facing any organisation struggling to change: resistance to change, insufficient resources, low staff morale, and opposition from politically powerful stakeholders?

This is what New York's Police Commissioner Bill Bratton faced, when he took on the task of transforming the US's most dangerous city, New York, into its safest. Bratton used Tipping Point Leadership (a concept first developed by Profs Kim and Mauborgne and published in 2003 by Harvard Business School) to make unarguable calls for change, focus resources on what mattered, galvanise key players' commitment, and silence naysayers. Bratton, who today is Police Commissioner of the LAPD, achieved this feat five times - from the Boston Police District 4 to the New York Transit Police and ultimately the NYPD.

This half-day master-class, presented by international brand leadership expert, Dr Nikolaus Eberl (recently featured on Carte Blanche), examines the change management program that New York's police commissioner, Bill Bratton, applied to turn the Big Apple from America's most dangerous into the safest large city - with such overwhelming success that Time magazine titled New York "the best example for urban renaissance", due to

- 50% drop in overall crime
- 70% drop in murder
- 55% drop in robbery
- 53% drop in burglary
- 61% drop in car thefts
- 36% increase in public confidence in the NYPD (73% from 37%)
