Unless you're a guru living on a mountain, you can't avoid stress, but you can prevent it from sucking you dry by creating a toolkit of stree-busting strategies.
Stress is a problem in most industrialised countries. According to an AP-Ipsos survey of 10 industrialised countries about 75% of people experience stress on a daily basis (December 2006). "The level of stress in fast-paced technological societies has been accelerating," says Gershen Kaufman, practicing clinical psychologist and professor emeritus at Michigan State University.
Stress kills. It also cuts morale and slices productivity. Listen to what your stress pot is telling you: where are you out of synch with yourself and your values? Then create a toolkit of stress-busting strategies to put the joy and passion back into your life.
