At the AMASA end-of-year function to be held next month, where new committee members will be voted in, Stafford Masie, the newly appointed country manager of Google SA, will be key speaker.

Google SA is due to launch in the country soon, and AMASA will present first insights into how the global internet phenomenon will become locally relevant. He will also speak about how online can assist and compliment the offline media mix.

Stafford Masie has held impressive titles in his career. From 2003 to 2007 he was the managing director of Novell SA, before which he was the global corporate technology strategist and global business strategist for Novell Inc, as well as the product marketing director of Novell SA. Furthermore, Stafford was voted the runner up in the National IT Personality of the Year Awards in 2004.

AMASA (Advertising Media Association of SA) is a non-profit organization with its primary focus on education of people with an interest in the media, marketing and advertising industry, with a view to improving knowledge and skill in media decision making techniques and their use. Besides its monthly meeting where key speakers discuss topical issues, it hosts an annual three-day Media channel planning workshop, run the Media strategy course at the AAA School and finally host an annual fundraising party.

AMASA is a voluntary association with the sole purpose to serve the Media and Advertising community of South Africa.
