Carbon neutral beer - Darling Brew leads Africa - 9 Apr 2018

By Lauren Hartzenberg, Retail Editor (@Biz_Retail)

This week we're celebrating Darling Brew's newly-acquired carbon neutral status. Expected to offset a total of 687.96 tons of CO2 over the next year of production, the craft beer company has been declared Africa's first carbon neutral brewery. Let's hope they're starting a trend!

In other booze news, we've got the winners of the 2018 Wine and Beer Label Design Awards. The competition, convened by Winemag.co.za, seeks to reward outstanding design as an influence on wine and beer purchases.

Also making headlines this week, Exclusive Books CEO Benjamin Trisk is calling it quits with South Africa's largest bookseller after reaching an "amicable settlement" with the board. Trisk is largely credited for the revitalisation of South Africa's book-selling industry.
