Flavour of the month - Mon, 05 Dec 2016December has arrived and while Bizcommunity was celebrating the end of the year on Friday, Menlyn Park Shopping Centre celebrated its R2bn makeover. At the relaunch event, Gauteng transport MEC Dr Ismail Vadi lauded the shopping centre for its integral transport facilities and involvement in the Bus Rapid Transport system to commence early next year.

Another cause for celebration is the arrival of Baskin-Robbins - the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops - in South Africa this Friday. Capetonians will be the first to taste the 31 flavours (one for every day of the month) the brand is famous for.

On the not-so-bright side, a report by Intel's McAfee Labs said hackers are expected to start targeting drones used for deliveries, posing a threat to companies like Amazon and UPS that are expected to use of drones for package deliveries, Andy Walker reports.

In-house contributor, Leigh Andrews finds out what's going on #behindtheselfie with Lebohang Mokoena, a 28-year-old entrepreneur who recently received seed funding to spearhead Goodbye Malaria's merchandising and fundraising effort at their new pop-up stores at airports. She also interviews Gavin Forsyth, CMO of Cybercellar, on its recent collaboration with Quicket.
