The healthy Cannes Lions roar and more! - Mon, 19 Jun 2017Cannes Lions 2017 is in full swing, with the Pharma and Health & Wellness Lions award ceremony already done and dusted this weekend. Click here for all the results - Y&R SA and 7Films have already done the country proud!

Our roving reporter Ann Nurock also chatted to Mandi Fine, CEO of F/NE and juror for the Cannes Lions Pharma Lions as part of Lions Health live in Cannes, about awarding work that's truly changing people's lives. Cannes Lions runs through 24 June 2017, with Cinemark as the official local representative for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. As we're midway through June, our #YouthMonth coverage is also well under way. Sharon Piehl, MD of FleishmanHillard's Johannesburg office wrote on Youth Day, 16 June, about how best to harness the skills of the future. She identifies five major themes or trends that will have a noticeable impact on the workplaces of the future and the skillsets of the people in them - best you get clued up ASAP.

Keeping things future-themed, Tom Fels feels the changing face of digital agencies is actually an ultimatum to adapt or die as the underlying disruptor is changing business structures, strategies and methodologies at a fundamental level. That's because ‘digital' is no longer a medium, but a method.

Lastly, Danette Breitenbach explores the ‘sweet opportunity' offered by micro influencers, based on IndaHash's 2017 International Influencer Report. She spoke to some of the speakers at MediaCom and IndaHash's 'The State of Influence' event last week and finds that while marketers tend to collaborate with macro influencers to give their brands reach and relevance, it's the micro influencers, who might not have the numbers, that have the resonance required to get their followers to engage with the brand and take action.

Lots to learn from and reflect on as you get started with your week.
