Marketing & Media Africa

Long live the brand

Nicolle Velleman reckons brands are more than product features. She says a brand is not a name, visual identity, logo, product or tagline - though these are common misconceptions. A brand is a perception that lives in the minds of customers. This perception determines whether customers will buy from your organisation or not.

In mobile news, apart from last week's announcement of Safaricom and Airtel buying out yuMobile, France Telecom, also known as Orange, has decided to exit several African markets where its operations are weak.

In her BizCareers column, Juliette Attwell this week helps the jobseeker improve his jobseeking abilities with advice on the application process, job portals to look at, and the interview stage.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Cheers!
