Africa's first focused trade fair for furniture, décor and design has launched

On 10 July, the doors seamlessly opened to what promises to continue to be the most important decor, furniture and retail event on the African continent. This was the inaugural Inspire Trade Expo, which ran until 12 July 2014 and was the brainchild of expo genius Rina Fortmann, who was not only a director of SARCDA for many years, but who also chaired EXSA (Exhibition Association Of Southern Africa). This show was a properly controlled trade show where every single visitor had to pass a host of stringent criteria in order to be allowed access, due to the focus being on quality trade visitors instead of thousands of consumers.

Fascinate, be different and be irreplaceable

A large percentage of the people on this planet secretly or openly crave to be different...it's natural. The human mind gets tired of routine...it's tedious, grey and predictable. "The human brain gets excited or reacts to external stimuli. Our reactions to the inherent feelings of fear, awe and elatedness 'excite' the brain, resulting in reactions that are strongly identified with" says Sachin P on Blurtit.com. As an organisation that has spent thousands and sometimes millions of precious money exhibiting at a tradeshow or exhibition, how would you prefer to be remembered or identified in the mind of an ordinary 21st century consumer?

Solidify brand loyalty with your clients through exhibitions

Living in the 21st century, we're consistently reminded of the depths that the human mind has not yet explored. Computers are getting smarter and smaller, virtual is the new reality and our vehicles can type out and send our text messages as we drive. Competition in business is fierce. Consumers are smarter and pedantic; they expect immediate and sustainable solutions, quality and preference...all served on a silver platter. With living in the 21st century comes choice.

Finally Africa showcases a dedicated decor, design and furniture expo

Rina Fortmann is a formidable and well-known name in the expo industry, not only as a past director of SARCDA but also the former chairperson of EXSA. With this backing, she undoubtedly has a wealth of hands-on experience. The motivation which drove her to launch Inspire Trade Expo, was primarily driven by the need in the industry to have a focused trade platform as well as listening to influential industry professionals that drove her to launch this show.

Exhibition design inspiration

"Design inspiration can come from anywhere, be it the cleverly designed coffee mug you drink your morning coffee from, to the innovatively creative website you visited whilst surfing the net, the new high-rise downtown, to the archway detail of your local restaurant. We are always surrounded by design, it is everywhere, and the best way to be inspired by it is to be open to it. Immerse yourself in the functionality and flow of daily living, keep your mind and eyes open to these things and they will be a constant source of inspiration." - Murray Strauss, Head of Design at SSQ Exhibitions
