ABOUT DILICOM
Dilicom was established in June 1995 in response to the need for the provision of multilingual communication solutions by professional and experienced language practitioners. We believe that our strength lies in our diversity, our ability to adapt to change and our passion for what we do.
Our database of suppliers includes 164 professional language practitioners and three quality controllers. The dedicated team of people who is responsible for making Dilicom a roaring success, consists of: Michelle Rabie - Member (50%); Charles Scheepers - Member (50%); Cherisé Pieterse - Bookkeeper; Quinten Scheepers - Accountant; Natalie Els - Chief Language Practitioner; Lilian Naudè - Marketing and PR; Chantell Swanepoel - Project Manager; Yolanda Booyzen - Graphic Designer.
Owing to the nature of the projects Dilicom undertakes, at least 80% of our freelance language workers are from previously disadvantaged groups.
Dilicom supports the promotion and implementation of multilingualism in South Africa.
SERVICES
We have a unique approach to addressing language and communication barriers in South Africa. Dilicom is the only language agency in South Africa offering over seven complete language solutions. Our most popular products include, but are not limited to:
- Essential Translation - Translation done by a professional language practitioner and a review done by Dilicom. Recommended for general, non-technical texts that are not intended for publication. Example: Internal communication, letters, faxes, memos, reports etc.
- EssentialPlus Translation - Translation done by a professional language practitioner, proofreading by a second language practitioner and a review done by Dilicom. Recommended for general, non-technical texts that are intended for publication. Example: Advertisements, letters, announcements, reports, brochures, newsletters, etc.
- Specialist Translation - Translation done by a professional language practitioner trained in a specific field of expertise and a review done by Dilicom. Recommended for: technical texts that are not intended for publication. Example: Protocols, certain legal documents, technical reports, in-house manuals, batch manufacturing documents, etc.
- SpecialistPlus Translation - Translation done by a professional language practitioner trained in a specific field of expertise and proofreading by a second language practitioner. A review is done by Dilicom. Recommended for technical texts that are intended for publication. Example: instruction manuals, handbooks, product descriptions, catalogues, policy documents, questionnaires, etc.
- Comprehensive Translation - Translation done by a professional language practitioner to the target language and a back translation by a second, independent language practitioner. Verification is done to ensure that the document is correctly translated. Recommended for highly technical, sensitive texts, intended for publication. Recommended for informed consent forms, patient diaries, questionnaires, medical advertisements, package inserts, batch manufacturing documents, surveys, instruction manuals, etc.
- Sworn Translation - A highly specialized service done by a sworn translator - Translations needed for legal or official purposes. Recommended for affidavits, certificates, diplomas, passports, visas, testaments, contracts, official documents, any document intended for use in court, etc.
- Financial Translation - Translation of financial reports and shareholder information with a fast turn around time. Recommended for announcements, financial advertisements, annual reports, proposals, business plans, etc.
All of these solutions are available in, amongst others, English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Sesotho, Sepedi, Tswana, Tsonga, Venda, Ndebele, Swati, Swahili, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Greek, German, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Hebrew and Romanian.
