I've been involved with the marketing of legal firms over the past nine years and have assisted several of the country's top law firms. Unfortunately there are no courses, but there are some really good PR firms both in Cape Town and in Jhb that can assist. Thought leadership pieces in the business press, quick response to topical issues (BEE, high-profile court cases); workshops with potential clients (employee rights, charters and how to implement these, etc) are but some of the tactics a good PR firm would consider.

Thank you for your comments and advice. The sad reality is that everything happens either in JHB or CT, we are based in the EC. I have had one company come back to me with some really excellent assistance.

I am being doing it for the last 6 years for a small pratice in the conveyancing department whith huge success. I had no experience in the field whatsoever and that is why people want somebody thinking out of the box. Clients are actually thinking that I am the attorney. But giving service and going the extra mile was unheard of before and the referals are fantastic.
