Comments on How about a second Afrikaans Sunday paper?

ja ek agree  by  stefanus
Yes - I've stopped reading rapport about ummmm 25 years ago (I'm now 30). If you don't like it don't read it. Rather visit cool afrikaans websites like www.litnet.co.za or www.roekeloos.co.za

Nothing wrong with Rapport  by  Rapport supporter
Rapport is the only & best afrikaans sunday newspaper. The stories are great..some juicy, but this is what we as readers need to know! Thumbs up for Rapport

The only one is both the best and the worst  by  Veewagter
Rapport being the ONLY Afrikaans language Sunday newspaper, it could be regarded both as the best and the worst.
I would describe it as falling in the latter category.
Be a little more patient. A new and readable Afrikaans Sunday newspaper is on its way within the next month or two.

Jy praat net stront
What is wrong with having an Afrikaans newspaper? Just because people who speak Afrikaans want a newspaper that provides its readers with quality content, you must jump on the 'reviving die Vaderland' bandwagon. What the hell is wrong with you?! I speak Afrikaans and enjoy reading news in my 'moedertaal'. And I'm coloured so try and accuse me of being a leftie and wanting to revive die Vaderland.

You are too Emotional / or stressed!( Stront)  by  Pulani
I'm not sure why you say I praat stront, you obviously read between the lines, if you read the article I said we should learn to co-habit no matter what our differences, I said it will be interesting to hear what the rightwing's been up to, remember what ever your perception of their activities the was strenth, and loyalty to their being, which to me is their right to fight for what they believe in, the same as you, you just said you enjoy reading Afrikaans paper, while I can't read it I do have a great respect for the Lingo, and mind you I do speak it as well, that doesn't make me a rightwing, it will be nice to hear their opinion.

Daar is 'n tweede op pad.  by  Goeie nuus!
I agree. Rapport is horrible. BUT a second Afrikaans Sunday paper is on his way. It's suppose to be a secret (I think) but a friend of mine was offered a job there. Apparently early next year. I'm also looking forward to it!
