Websites are shrinking
Great artitle. Those companies who just put an email address and logo on their website and what about the individual who has no idea what are their services. I although they well known but they don't get more clients as will be if some content were on they site, some poeple go to the site for infomation/services they offer. SEO is pointless to then if used it for those who search for information/services offer.

Why it's crucial to report on event management for successful future events
Managing events is not an easy task as an event has so many aspects from number of guests to decoration to food and many more things. So to make an event organizing easy and less stressful hiring a professional event management company like Cirque Kalandra of Orlando, Florida at http://goo.gl/HePAZQ is recommended as such companies know all the tactics to handle any arduous situation in any event.

Common project management failures and ways to avoid them
This is a really good take on how important project management methodology is in a field that doesn't always consider what it is doing one where a methodology applies.

I like to use the example that having the strong methodology in place allows creative people to do better work because they have a backbone in place to guide the mundane, but necessary tasks that are needed to produce their best work.

SABC DA ad ban: The battle continues
I once again pose the question that if the ANC controls the content on SABC then it is no longer a public broadcaster, and therefore we shouldn't have to pay a TV license fee.

Townships are the new black
@VX9256: There may be township dwellers who ASPIRE to experience the lifestyle of some of the characters in soapies - but they are in no way or means MOTIVATED or INFLUENCED by the soapies. I'm telling you this from what I see and experience - I don't go in there to to do research and leave, or go there when there's a Wine Expo/horse racing extravaganza/big music event in the city. I live there.

Point in example: Hunter's was used in Generations at Mam Ruby's tavern. Did sales of Hunter's spike or increase in the township? If you look at their sales figures, you'll find that they didn't. On the other hand, Smirnoff Ice Double Black & Guarana is popular. Yet it wasn't featured in any soapie and I haven't seen any TV ads for it. What 'influenced' people in townships to buy it?

Marketers need to stop treating kasi consumers as mindless sheep. They are able to make up their own minds about what brands they will consume/buy - simplistic ads and product placement just won't cut it anymore. You need to find out what makes them tick and what role the brand can play in their lives. Don't treat them as if they're less 'sophisticated'.

Townships are the new black
Tony Starks - it is not to say that all townships relate or live their lives as per the soapies - but rather are motivated and INFLUENCED by the soapies. There is a lot of truth and relation in terms of what happens in soapies and what people do / aspire to do and be in real life.

Dainette - well written article and a lot of truth on the article - well done.

Challenge now lies with the expense to actually place your product in any soapie or be scripted into the storyline. So the challenge is more of getting involved without being pressured into forking out loads of cash (premium) to have your product placed on the soapie.

Townships are the new black
We agree with this article and as Consumer Communications our main focus is in marketing direct to the township consumers also know as Kasie consumers.
Soapie influence is rife and can be iterpreted from various angles we should not convince ourselves and say consumers will copy but rather say they aspire lifestley in those soapies especially successful characters.
Marketers need to give this market a special attention for growing their brands

JSE unveils a new brand identity
I have just visited the new JSE website. I don't understand how in today's world you could design a site that does not properly resize to a mobile device. The view area bleeds off my tablet. This contradicts the stated objectives of the client 1) showcasing the technology that drives the JSE 2) being more accessible. I suspect that a large portion of visitors to the site will be using tablets. A refreshed logo will not change perception if the user experience is poor.
