Comments on Telkom? No, Hellcom!

Hellcom for sure.
I think we are all in agreement with you, Telkom must be the worst service in SA. Unfortunately they have no competition (for now) so anything goes...

Class Action Law suit  by  Pissed OFF
When you start experience the hellish service from Telkom, you begin to wonder why class action lawsuits are not popular in this country. Like the previous writer, I'm also in Communications and my company is also constantly going offline, being told that our bandwith is capped, and we also experience a complete loss of productivity almost every Monday morning. I urge everyone who has lost productivity due to Telkom's incompetence to group together and if there's a good lawyer who wants to give SA its' first taste of a major class action lawsuit, then I'd be more than willing to oblige. Come on people. South Africa is way past the stage of being a Banana Republic. We should be able to vote with our wallets, and if there's no competition, surely our Justice system must have ways in which we can fight back. If I'm going to lose a client because Telkom had me offline for 6 hours on the day that I'm supposed to distribute 400 invitations for a major client function, Someone has to pay. I think Telkom has a sufficient Legal budget to pay me (and the rest of you out there) for loss of income!

Competition
Hah, we've also experienced that very same problem however telkom told us that there was a problem at the exchange and it would take up to 2 weeks to repair! 2 weeks!! luckily for us it was sorted out within 24 hours but we could not do a single thing that whole day. Neotel is launching its packages by end August I presume and it should provide some competition.
