Comments on Research on industrial theatre as an industry

Try for comment from THEATRE MANAGEMENTS OF SOUTH AFRICA - www.tmsa.org.za

I'd say it's a very large unmeasured economic part of the industry indeed.

The audio/video service providers would agree - it's their business, but it's not categorised as performing arts and yet again the performers lose out with no security of employment from one gig to the next.

Industrial theatre as a communication tactic  by  PRISA
Certainly the public relations and communication professionals use industrial theatre as a tactic for getting messages across to selected target audiences. It is a most effective way of reaching audiences, particularly when it is participative. In my experience the industrial theatre programmes I have seen, have been energetic and audience participative and create an environment for "buy-in". They certainly form part of the public relations and communication professional's repertoire of practical tactics to build relationships and get messages across.

Industrial Theatre  by  Eugene Du Plessis
Not many companies use this medium as a marketing tool, this can help the struggling artists not always in work actors, singers and dancers.

Because we are not promoting sport, the word theatre and arts are difficult to sell to companies.

I have presented many theatrical shows as part of the industrial theatre arena, maybe the terminology is wrong?

We have also used it very effectively as a company road show tailored to the company's needs and desires.
Specially written pieces words and music.

yes and it's a gold mine  by  vinxe
i have explored this tool in giving answers to some proposals from educational institutions. so far i have helped with the use of industrial theatre as a sole communications tool to approach prospective students for computer and other colleges in my area and turn them into clients for my clients.

it's attention getting but when using this tool u must be very careful. you dont get every one in your target market used to it. u must save it to last. use different techniques. i am afraid u will need a little bit if theatre noledge to use it effectively for a long time.

it is a going to be a hype that will dye out quickly if not used carefully. (MA. IMC Student Uni FS)

image theatre\ industrial theatre  by  lali
hi i have a great interest in image theatre and this has resulted in me researching on the use of image theatre in the business sector for my masters paper. i have found some really interesting writtings on industrial theatre\organisational theatre\corporate theatre.i have found it very challenging to find writting on companies in south africa that use image theatre as a dramatcic device especially on its own. if there is anyone who practices using image theatre i would really love to speak to them about their experiences .i am also looking for a company where i can hold a 6 session long workshop where i intend to use image theate as tool of facilitating dialogue about issues pertainging to the organisation as part of my reasearch. any assistance would be greatly appreciated. my email adress is n.dangazele@gmail.com
