Comments on An editor goes to jail? Does anyone care?

I care!  by  John Doe
We are aware that newspapers may sell more editions when running stories that are interesting to the public, but stories that are in the interest of the public are worth even more and this is exactly what the sunday times did and I respect Mondli Makhanya for that.

That Manto was convicted for theft in another country is a minor but pertinent detail someone should have taken the time to consider when appointing her to the position of minister. Manto allowed the world to happen to her while she could have come clean and rather happen to the world. She simply burried her head and hoped for the storm to pass. In addition, she moved on to abusing a teenager's liver by continuing to dring axcessively. how many chances can a person get?

I do however care how the sunday Times got hold of those medical documents, though either way it's matter of "the means justify the end".

The day mondli goes to jail over this will be the day the lines between right and wrong blur.

I care, but it was theft.
Media freedom should not have to mean that the media gets whatever it wants while disregarding the country's laws. I think Manto should be exposed, but not through stealing private information. The editor does deserve to be arrested.

Franco.
