I looked at your website and personally I thought the purple was a bit too much. Play with another colour. The ideas is to interest your potential employer. Check your spelling and grammar. It's not Vitea but Vitae. Get someone who can help you.
I am sorry I am going to sound harsh - I can see you put a lot of hard work into creating a website and I commend you for that - but I wouldn't call you in for an interview based on your website.
It doesn't have the style and creativity that one would want from a graphic designer - eg. look at http://www.coolhomepages.com/ to show you how some people promote themselves on the web. Now a lot of us don't have those web design skills (myself included) but you can do basic Dreamweaver so push your boundaries a bit. Read design books and magazines (we have a lovely local one here in SA http://www.onesmallseed.com/); surf the net and show your potential employer a designer who is excited about design! (and definitely... NO SPELLING MISTAKES!!)
If your work experience hasn't allowed you to produce the design work you believe you can produce, take on imaginary clients and design for them - as an employer I find that an enthusiasm and initiative goes a lot further than work experience.
On another level - with the threat of identity fraud going on these days, I would take the advice of the KFC ad and say with regards to putting so many personal details out there: "ooh, there are somethings you shouldn't share!"
Thank you for your input, it really means a lot to me, it's not harsh, it's the truth. That's why I did it, that's why I wanted you guys to have look. Cause normal (non designers) tells me... o it's a great website, very nice, well done, etc.
So that is why I wanted Designers to tell me what they think.
With all that said, don’t confuse appreciation with incompetence. Saying that your site looks great doesn’t make me less of a designer but one that respects your vision. Not every graphically strong website works. Simplicity is usually more effective, depending on the targeted audience or job. Bear in mind that one of the “harsh” fundis you are so pleased with patronizingly assumed you had “Basics” in Dreamweaver. If you are going to be swayed to alternate directions when you had one thing in mind that you thought would work and applied it then you should question if you are a real designer. As wonderful as all those other sites look, I am sure they are nothing like what you pictured when you started designing. What’s good or bad is a subjective matter no one design ever gained the favor of all.
your spelling still sucks though, they are right about that among other things.
Your website looks ok, but still needs a lot of work. If you want to speed up your learning process what I suggest is that you download a website that you like and try to do something similar. I am also not sure which graphics software you are using but if you are using photoshop visit http://www.pslover.com. It has step by step tutorials that are very useful.
