What is your point?
No wonder you have problems. I have no idea what you want us to know. Other than your work has to be checked all the time.

Please think out of the box!!  by  Man with problems...
What are you on about? who said anything about problems or work that has to be checked?

i dont want you to know anything, which is why this was posed as A QUESTION! i am not suprised by the reaction however coz i know some people wouldnt want to think further than "HE IS PLAYING THE RACE CARD" truth is, i want to know if it is true that black designers dont get far in advrtising (that is what i have been getting from Designers in advetising)according to them this is due to the fact that their input and work doesnt get much recognition or credit.

FYI i am very happy where i am but if i had to consider growth, i would be interested in Advertising.

Which is why i am ASKING this very interesting question.

Why abuse the priviledge of communicating with other people!!  by  Mells
Why wanna create something out of line. In my understanding the forums are for people who needs some info, debate on certain issues( Marketing/Advertising related) Or perhaps curb our enthusiasm. But wena Boss, you way too far than that!!! Please grow up & my advice, is that you go to Pep Stores or Game and get something to play with if you're bored.

If you can't find my Question or see the debate in this... please keep your advise to yourself coz you are the one who still needs to grow or learn proper English!

What's a Race Card? - Mr Orange
When i studied advertising at college, we were encouraged to be creative, but we were never taught about Chips on Shoulders or Race Cards. GET ON WITH IT! If you think you have the goods, then go sell yourself...not the colour of your skin. Thats what will make you succeed. Then again, look at our government....

Will keep that in mind  by  That Card Player
My point exactly, trust me... it sucks. Atleast you two acknowledge the grey area... giving it my all is part of the recipy, i know of good white designers too who strugle to find jobs jus becouse companies want to hire black Mannequins who for some reason have also made them think we are all passive labourors. Regardless how much you push, more powerfull forces push against your growth (so they say)is this how things are in advertising?

yah! ne!  by  Your turn!
Thats true, none of us are more priviledged though, how can we make things work? getting a job might be tough for you, i may be wrong but you are still not helping me. what do i need to do to make it in advertising? that is what i am trying to establish...despite the contravertial approach to this.

i trust you will give me a more matured response, u do sound as experienced as you say you are.

Mhhh! interesting.
We are! Question is... IS OUR CREATIVITY RECOGNISED? is it that we have a different or unconventional frame of reference? what makes sense ekasi wont in Sandton or New York... i do wonder if ur MAQ, CELL C, and IMANA ads would have had a better effect if... never mind. a good example of a mix of both worlds is that (Lemini iyeza nakuwe) ad from King james for MINI. look it up.
