Herbex  by  The Madam
I do not think they are all that bad. These are real women with weight issues and Herbex obviously wanted to use real case studies and not some pretty model that lives on half a radish and a lettuce leaf a day! It is nicely executed in my opinion.

target markets
it's quite clear that the ad targets afrikaans speaking women - her english is heavily accented for a specific reason, to reach out to that market, take them into her confidence and make them feel confident about buying the product.

ads don't cater to just the perfect english speaking market and shouldn't. we're hardly in the majority and our command of the language isn't a reflection of our intelligence.

Makes me laugh
I think its funny how the lady tries to speak English. Gets a laugh out of me. I can understand how it can become annoying though. For the moment its not too bad if you feel like having a laugh but phasing it out soon should be considered.

English  by  Hester
Maybe all these English speaking ladies must make an Afrikaans advertisement so that we also can have a laugh.
Is it about the language or the product. Like to know.

uhmm ...  by  Johnathan
If you haven't noticed, this is a country were afrikaans is and always will be. If the English folks have a problem, then leave, you have a country of your own.

Don't you all be hypocrites now ...

WatEva!  by  Sign Language
There 12 official languages in SA - not everybody speaks English, she is actually doing u a favour by speaking it. Why should English always be spoken properly when English speaking people don't want 2 speak other languages - by a show of hands - How many english people can speak Zulu properly, or Sotho or Afrikaans, or Venda. This is enough give us a Break - English - Sniglish!
